Doheny Eye Center
Affiliated with the University of Southern California (USC) School of Medicine in Los Angeles, the Doheny Eye Institute is recognized as a preeminent center for patient care, vision research and physician education.
The center was founded in 1947 by Carrie Estelle Doheny, wife of the prominent Los Angeles oilman Edward L. Doheny, she lost the sight in her left eye on her 69th birthday in 1944. Suddenly aware of the precious and delicate nature of the gift of sight, Mrs. Doheny created and funded the organization which still bears her name today.
The Doheny Eye Institute is dedicated to the restoration, preservation and improvement of human eyesight. All of the physicians are fulltime members of the USC School of Medicine faculty, and may offer patients access to advanced treatments and some of the latest clinical trials. Doheny Eye Institute has been rated among the top 10 ophthalmology programs in the United States by U.S. News and World Report.
The Doheny Eye Center at Chapman Medical Center provides second opinions, consultations and medical/surgical care for a variety of eye disorders including:
