About the Program
The Center for Senior Mental Health at Chapman Medical Center is a 12-bed, secured, inpatient, acute geriatric psychiatry service that is designed to meet the specific needs of the senior patient (55 years and older).
The Center for Senior Mental Health was established to provide the highest quality of individualized clinical care for senior adults needing behavioral health and medical treatment, and to do so in a clinically sophisticated, safe, comfortable, supportive and responsive environment. Adult patients who are 55 and older may be admitted to the Unit for short-term treatment and care. Treatment services are provided by a multi-disciplinary team and delivered with an integrated approach to the patient’s psychiatric and medical conditions.
The practice of psychiatry is focused on the study and treatment of the human mind and behavior. Our Senior Mental Health unit provides expert information and treatment for you and your family about the specific problems related to the aging brain and body, along with understanding the social stressors that are unique to the older adult. Treatment services are provided by a multi-disciplinary team and are delivered with an integrated approach to the patient’s psychiatric and medical conditions.
